p.a.t.h. Spinal Cord Injory Group

Here at PATH Spinal Cord Injury Group we are able to work with many types of injuries. All we require is the person is able to breathe on his/her own does not have severe osteoporosis, (which can be determined from a bone density scan). We also require clearance from your doctor to be able to start an intensive exercise program.

Over 41,000 Canadians are living with spinal cord injuries, (SCI). Approximately 84% of people with SCI are under the age of 34. The leading cause of spinal cord injury is motor vehicle accidents, falls, sports injuries, diving accidents and other causes such as disease or surgery.

Currently, there are few rehabilitation options for people with SCI following discharge from the hospital. Therefore PATH Spinal Cord Injury Group has been set up for those who have the drive and motivation to want more out of life. We aim to provide an improvement in your overall quality of life, using techniques inspired by other leading rehabilitation centers across the world. Through intense exercise based rehabilitation coupled with education and support we aim to stimulate the nervous system through various movements and exercises.
